On July 14, the ruling of the first-instance court was made public. It acquitted former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski of the charges and rejected the confiscation of the VMRO-DPMNE headquarters. Earlier this month, the prosecution challenged the ruling through an appeal.
The Court of Appeals may uphold or overturn the acquittal ruling. Regardless of the outcome, the parties may have a very limited period to file appeals.
