Another mass grave containing the remains of victims of the most recent war in Kosovo was discovered today in the village of Jabuka, in the municipality of Zubin Potok. The news was announced by acting Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla.

The new site is only 10 kilometers from Kalludra in Zubin Potok, where human remains were previously discovered in a mass grave and where searches and investigations are still ongoing.
Sveçla expressed gratitude to the Kosovo Police, the relevant units investigating war crimes, the Kosovo Intelligence Agency, the Institute of Forensic Medicine, and the Kosovo Prosecutor’s Office for their work in researching, investigating, and identifying these sites.
According to him, Serbia has not changed since the Milošević era, and not only because of figures such as Aleksandar Vučić and Ivica Dačić.
He stressed that Vučić was Šešelj’s number two, Dačić was Milošević’s number two, while Vulin was Mira Marković’s number two. Sveçla added that all three remain in power in Serbia, arguing that the country has remained unchanged in both form and substance.
The acting minister also said that Serbia, on the one hand, refuses to provide information about people who were forcibly taken and remain missing, while, on the other, it threatens and imprisons its own citizens who help uncover these graves.
He said that Serbia also glorifies, through memorials, brigades such as the 37th Brigade, whose members are responsible for numerous massacres committed in Kosovo.
Sveçla called on international partners to condemn and severely punish Serbia for this conduct. According to him, without such a response, not only will any progress toward justice become impossible, but Serbia will continue to endanger peace in the Western Balkans every day.
Despite this, he emphasized that the institutions remain steadfast and committed to searching every inch of ground, with the aim of establishing the fate of every person killed or forcibly disappeared by the Serbian state during the most recent war in Kosovo and ensuring that every criminal responsible for the crimes committed at that time is brought to justice.
