The scheme is available to citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia enrolled as full-time students in undergraduate, postgraduate or integrated study programs at public or private universities. Their monthly income from all sources must not exceed the country’s net minimum wage for the current year.
Applications must be submitted online at https://e-uslugi.mon.gov.mk/. During the process, students must complete the “Application for Entitlement to a Subsidized Student Meal” form and the “Declaration on the Accuracy of the Information Provided in the Application,” sign them and upload them to the electronic application system.
Applications will be accepted from August 26 to 31, 2026, both from students who are currently enrolled and those who will enroll and obtain student status in the 2026/2027 academic year.
Another application window will open every month starting in October, from the 1st to the 5th. This applies to students who did not obtain the benefit through this call, as well as those whose entitlement was terminated because they failed to meet one of the criteria, should they subsequently meet the requirements again.
According to the Ministry of Education and Science, students approved as beneficiaries will receive the funds in the month following the month in which they submitted their application.
Financial support for student meals amounts to 140 denars and may be used to purchase prepared food.
The service may be used from Monday through Saturday. If a student does not use the meal benefit during this period, the funds will remain available in their account until the end of the week, meaning until Saturday.
The benefit cannot be used from July 1 to October 1, or on public holidays and non-working days.
For subsidized student meal payments, the Ministry of Education and Science has signed an agreement with Sparkasse Bank AD Skopje. Students granted this entitlement must sign an agreement with the bank to open a dedicated account linked to a payment card specifically intended for subsidized student meals, even if they were previously Sparkasse Bank customers.
Information on the deadline and procedure for collecting the cards will be announced at a later date by the Ministry of Education and Science and Sparkasse Bank.
Details on the eligibility criteria and application steps are available in the Ministry’s public call. For assistance with the application, students may contact the Department for Pupil and Student Standards or send an email to [email protected].
