An Italian national has been arrested in Tirana after allegedly stealing an Audi Q5 and then attempting to flee.

The incident reportedly took place on a secondary road, where the vehicle’s owner had just gotten out of the car, leaving it running.
The Italian national got into the Audi Q5 and immediately drove away from the scene.
After taking the car, he drove through the Astir area, while officers from Police Station No. 6, together with Road Police units, pursued him.
During the escape, the suspect carried out several dangerous maneuvers and collided with several vehicles. In an attempt to stop him, a police officer was also injured during the pursuit.
After the chase, police managed to stop and arrest the Italian national.
Checks carried out after his arrest indicated that he was allegedly under the influence of narcotic substances at the time of the incident.
