Some citizens have contacted Alsat with complaints about the lack of tetanus vaccine at infectious disease clinics.
Asked about this issue, the Ministry of Health responded that sufficient doses have been secured for the immunization of children against tetanus, but it did not provide an explanation for the lack of vaccines intended for adults.

“The Ministry of Health informs that sufficient quantities have been secured for the regular immunization of children against Tetanus, for which the Ministry is responsible through the immunization program. Public health institutions, in accordance with their legal responsibilities, independently plan their needs and implement the appropriate procedures for the public procurement of Tetanus vaccines,” the Ministry of Health said.
Tetanus is an acute infectious disease caused by the spores of the bacterium Clostridium tetani, present in soil, ash, the intestinal tracts of animals and humans, as well as on the surface of the skin and on rusty tools such as nails, needles, and barbed wire. For this reason, immunization is considered essential to avoid the consequences of this bacterium, which can be fatal./Alsat/
