Five people were injured in a shooting that triggered an alert at Virginia State University, campus police said.
According to foreign media reports, one of the victims is in serious condition, while the other four sustained minor injuries.

Following the incident, the campus was temporarily closed, but the lockdown was lifted shortly afterward.
For an extended period, authorities urged students, employees and members of the public to stay away from the area where the incident occurred.
Earlier, the university had said that the incident near the Quad Annexes could have involved “multiple individuals.”
