SHISH scandal, Muçollari: Rama is concerned about keeping crime from being reported, not preventing it

Grigels Muçollari, a member of the Democratic Party’s leadership, has criticized Prime Minister Edi Rama’s stance on security and the scandal involving the State Intelligence Service.

According to Muçollari, Rama focused on the disclosure of information in the media but presented no measures to prevent such incidents from happening again.

According to Muçollari, the prime minister’s message was that crime could happen, as long as it was not made public.

Muçollari said that after returning from the UN, Edi Rama should have announced his resignation and begun preparations for new elections, which he considers the only way to overcome the severe crisis caused by the government’s corruption scandals and crimes.

He added that even if such a move was not expected of the prime minister, Rama should at least have expressed concern about the unprecedented scandal at the State Intelligence Service. According to Muçollari, a person appointed by Rama was caught supporting someone wanted by the justice system and passing secret information to him.

But, Muçollari said, Rama did neither. Instead, he blamed SPAK for the investigations and accused the media of reporting the incident.

The Democratic Party leadership member claimed that the prime minister was not concerned about the breach of national security or the extreme level of involvement of his close associates and, consequently, Rama himself.

According to Muçollari, the prime minister’s only concern was the scandal’s disclosure and the appearance in the media of evidence related to the crime.

“No response, no plan to stop the crime from happening again, but everything to keep it from coming to light!” Muçollari concluded.
