In a video message published on social media, Shehaj described the case as yet another scandal that, in his view, demonstrates the way Prime Minister Edi Rama governs.
He said Rama had failed to demonstrate the ability to run the country without breaking the law and meddling with citizens’ money. According to Shehaj, the cases investigated by SPAK are not isolated incidents but have become the way the government operates.
In his response, the leader of the Mundësia Party also mentioned SPAK’s other investigations, listing the waste-processing plants, the Llogara Tunnel, Vlora Airport, the Port of Durrës, the Big Ring Road, sterilization, AKSHI, the check-up program and the Thumanë-Kashar road.
Shehaj said there were 10 cases and added that the list should also include the Municipality of Tirana and the investigation linked to Mayor Erion Veliaj.
“Rama has demonstrated a pronounced inability to work without breaking the law and dipping his hands into citizens’ pockets. This is sufficient reason for him to leave office. By now, we have understood what he knows how to do: only steal,” he said.
According to Shehaj, the prime minister’s style of governing has been exposed sufficiently, and his departure is essential. “Rama remaining in power means the theft will continue,” the leader of the Mundësia Party concluded.
