The plenary session of the Parliament of Albania was suspended for several minutes following reports of a serious accident on the Durrës–Tiranë section, where fatalities are suspected.
The request for a temporary interruption of the session was made by the head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, with the aim of securing full information about the incident and the situation on the ground.

Speaking in Parliament, Balla said that institutions had been informed of a serious accident on the highway and that preliminary data pointed to loss of life. For this reason, he proposed a short pause in the parliamentary proceedings.
After that, the session was interrupted for about 5 minutes, while MPs received more information about the developments related to the accident on the Durrës–Tiranë road.
