According to preliminary information, the accident involved an Audi vehicle with license plate AA 089 DJ, driven by a man identified by the initials A.G.
The vehicle struck a man around 70 years old, identified as Xhemal Çela, a resident of Bradashesh, who was riding a bicycle at the time of the incident.
The collision was severe, and the 70-year-old suffered serious bodily injuries. After receiving first aid and medical treatment at Elbasan Regional Hospital, he was sent to Tirana for more specialized treatment due to his deteriorating health condition.
Unfortunately, Xhemal Çela died while being transported to Tirana, unable to survive the injuries sustained in the accident, reports journalist Fatmir Popja.
Police services arrived at the scene and launched an investigation to document the circumstances and causes of the accident.
The vehicle’s driver was escorted to the police station, while the investigative team is working to fully clarify the sequence of events.
Preliminarily, it is suspected that the collision occurred while the vehicle was traveling along the Bradashesh-Peqin road, while the elderly man was riding his bicycle. Responsibility and the specific circumstances of the accident are expected to be determined by the investigation.
The incident has shocked the Bradashesh community, where the 70-year-old was a local resident.
