A 40-year-old man wanted internationally by the Italian authorities has been arrested in Tirana as part of the “FAST” police operation.

Operational Services of the FAST Albania Search Sector, in cooperation with the Tirana Local Police Directorate, located the suspect in the Sauk area and placed him under arrest for extradition purposes.
The arrested man is Ornado Çeta, also known as Ceta, a resident of Tirana, who is considered by the authorities to be a person of high social risk.
Çeta was sentenced by the Trieste Court of Appeal in Italy to 21 years, 9 months and 20 days in prison after being found guilty of “Aggravated theft,” “Fraud,” “Drug trafficking,” “Possession of assets of criminal origin,” “Bodily harm,” “Threats” and “Resisting police officers.”
According to the police, he has 20 years, 6 months and 14 days of his total sentence remaining to serve.
Following his arrest, Interpol Tirana has contacted Interpol Rome to finalize the procedures that will enable the extradition of the 40-year-old to Italy.
