SDSM has accused Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski over the water situation, listing cases in Gostivar, Krushevo, Valandovo, Bulacan, Plasnica, Leshka, Preglovo and Mavrovo. The opposition party emphasizes that after seven cities with poisonous water, Lepenec, Vardar and Bashino Selo, it is now found that even the water from the springs in Elshani and Velestovo near Ohrid cannot be drunk. According to SDSM, it seems that there is no clean place left in Macedonia.

The opposition also claims that Mickoski is talking about the presence of “new bacteria” in Gostivar.
“Klekovski declares that the water will become drinkable by the end of the week, while everyone presents their own version. Instead of protecting people’s health, political points are being scored. This is shameful. For VMRO-DPMNE and Mickoski, their rating is more important than the health of citizens. In this way, they will poison all of Macedonia,” SDSM states.
According to the party, it remains unknown how many other municipalities and cities may be polluted without yet being made public. SDSM says that the Minister of Police, Toshkovski, is dealing with hyperchlorination as if he were employed in a water supply system. Meanwhile, according to them, Mickoski makes a promise, while Klekovski avoids responsibility.
“An epidemic of jaundice is developing, but no one has yet been identified as responsible. No one has put a signature and no one has put a stamp. There is no person to give a guarantee by name and surname,” emphasize from SDSM.
From the party they add that the authorities do not show which institution and which individual approved the use of technical water in Gostivar. “No analyses have been presented, there are no responsible persons and the name and surname of the relevant person are missing. There are only lies, manipulation and shifting of blame from one to another. This can no longer be called simply a water crisis, but systemic poisoning of the state,” say from SDSM.
