According to him, the staff shortage often forces one prosecutor to do the work of three people, slowing the progress of proceedings.

He recalled that the Law on the Public Prosecutor’s Office has remained blocked in parliamentary procedure for a long time. Saveski called for the law to be adopted as soon as possible and for the recommendations of the Venice Commission to be taken into account, particularly those concerning the percentage of the budget that should be allocated to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Saveski also assessed that the new regulation for selecting the head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Corruption makes the election process more transparent./tv21.tv
