Information about Rubati’s past indicates that he was released in recent years from a prison in Greece, where he had been accused of a serious criminal offense.

While serving his sentence in Greece, the 50-year-old was also being sought by Albanian authorities in a case involving several customs officers. The case concerned a suspected vehicle trafficking and smuggling scheme.

In this case, the Court of Appeal sentenced Rubati to an alternative measure, allowing him to avoid serving time in a cell. As a result, after completing his prison term in Greece, he did not serve a prison sentence in Albania.

The investigative team is working to determine the motive behind the attack, while efforts to identify and apprehend the perpetrators are ongoing.
