Following the untimely loss of mayor Jovica Ilievski, the Brvenica Municipal Council convened today in an extraordinary session to ensure the continuity of local governance. On July 13, 2026, the council members adopted a series of key decisions for the future of the institution.
Based on the provisions of Article 54, paragraph 1, item 2 and paragraph 5 of the Law on Local Self-Government, it was decided by majority vote that Robert Millosheski, who held the position of Council President, be appointed to the temporary post of municipality head. He will be responsible for the administration and management of all municipal affairs until the time when early local elections are organized for a permanent successor.

As a result of this transition to the new executive role, Millosheski had to temporarily step down from his previous role in the Council. To fill this vacancy, during the same session, the councilors elected Miroslav Dailovski to take over the leadership of the Brvenica Municipal Council.
