The Albanian Road Authority (ARRSH) announced that, due to the implementation of the “Expansion of the Tirana–Durrës Highway” project, a traffic management plan involving temporary restrictions will come into effect.

On August 6 and 7, 2026, between 00:00 and 04:30, metal beams will be installed on the new Kashar overpass. To ensure road safety during the work, the two lanes of the main route in the Durrës–Tirana direction will be closed.
During this period, vehicles traveling from Durrës toward Tirana, “Mother Teresa” International Airport and Kosovo will be diverted via the ramps of the Thumanë–Kashar highway.
Vehicles heading to the airport and Kosovo will continue along the Kashar–Thumanë highway. Meanwhile, vehicles traveling to Tirana will be directed by temporary road signs onto the secondary road and will rejoin the Durrës–Tirana highway after passing the Kashar overpass.
