Road accident in Umbria, two young men aged 20 and 21 lose their lives after collision between car and truck

Two young lives were tragically cut short in Italy, following a powerful collision between a car and a truck that occurred in the territory of the Umbria region. The victims are a 20-year-old girl and a 21-year-old boy.

The tragedy was recorded in the late morning of October 12, precisely on the road axis connecting Perugia with Bettona, near the Passignano Ovest exit, within the borders of the municipality of Passignano sul Trasimeno, which belongs to the province of Perugia.

No pain is greater than the loss of young lives – Italian news portals report that the young couple, originally from the Marche region, were traveling by car when the vehicle had to give way to a truck. The collision occurred in an area where road repairs were being carried out and where passage had been restricted due to ongoing works.

Afterwards, their bodies were extracted from the wreckage of the vehicle and urgently transported to the Santa Maria della Misericordia hospital center in Perugia, where they arrived in very critical condition.

Due to the severe injuries, both young people were immediately placed in intensive care. The doctors’ efforts to keep them alive proved insufficient against the severity of their injuries.

The hospital gave official confirmation of their deaths in the late afternoon hours.

It is worth noting that the collision occurred in an area where roadworks had temporarily narrowed the traffic lane. So far, no additional information has been provided about the causes that led to the accident.
