“Next week, we will create the Ministry of Public Administration, precisely because public administration has now become a very central issue in the government’s work, but it is also a very central issue in the further European state-building of Albania,” Rama said.
The head of government stressed that the new ministry would seek to expand responsibilities and objectives for modernizing the administration, referring to models implemented in other European countries.
“There is a need for us, through the Ministry of Public Administration—a model that many other European countries have—to broaden the range of duties, the range of work and, naturally, also the range of ambitions to further advance the European state of Albanians,” the prime minister declared.
Rama also indicated that the new institution would be headed by the Minister of State for Public Administration, Adea Pirdeni, considering her the right choice to continue this process.
“In my view, there is no question that the Ministry of Public Administration can be headed only by the Minister of State for Public Administration,” Rama said, thanking the administration’s representatives for their dedication.
