The Ministry of Finance announced that it had received the prosecution’s decision to dismiss the criminal complaint filed by officials of the Municipality of Pristina, who claimed that the municipal budget had been blocked by the ministry.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the decision confirms that the allegations made by Pristina officials were unfounded and that the work of its staff was carried out in accordance with legal provisions.
The ministry recalled that the Municipality of Pristina had submitted its 2025 budget several months late, beyond the deadline set by law and after the Assembly had approved the Budget Law. For this reason, the municipal budget was not included in the relevant law, preventing its full allocation and use.
In response to this situation, the leaders of the Municipality of Pristina baselessly accused officials of the Ministry of Finance of deliberately blocking the budget and subsequently filed a criminal complaint.
The Ministry of Finance welcomed the conclusion of the case, emphasizing that it deemed the allegations against its staff unfounded. The institution also reiterated its commitment to continuing its professional work.
