During several searches conducted in Tetovo and Gostivar, police discovered and confiscated firearms, ammunition, narcotics and other items. Several people were detained as part of the operations.

On August 21, Tetovo Department of Internal Affairs officers arrested 41-year-old S.B. from the village of Leshok. A court-authorized search of his home and auxiliary premises uncovered a 7 mm carbine with an optical scope, a 9 mm “CZ” pistol with empty magazines, a 5.4 mm air rifle with a scope, as well as cartridges of various calibers.
Also on August 21, at around 20:21, seven people were detained in Gostivar following a report of a disturbance of public order and peace accompanied by gunshots in the village of Kunovë.
The detainees are A.M. (39), D.M. (26), B.S. (37), R.R. (66), B.A. (37) and R.V. (72), all from Gostivar, as well as N.L. (65) from Skopje. Shell casings were found at the scene, while searches of several holiday homes led to the seizure of several firearms, including carbines, hunting rifles and a pistol, along with a larger quantity of ammunition.
During the night between August 21 and 22, Tetovo police, in cooperation with the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit “Tigers” and the Service Dog Unit, searched a house and a workshop-barack in Tetovo that were being used by P.M. (36).
L.S. (19) and two 16-year-old minors were found in the workshop. During the search, a white powdery substance, marijuana and two digital scales were discovered on L.S. and one of the minors. Boxes containing a white powdery substance, as well as financial assets in various currencies and denominations, were also found on the premises.
Police announced that all the detained individuals had been deprived of their liberty. Following the completion of the documentation of the cases and in cooperation with the public prosecutor, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will file the relevant criminal reports.
