Police announce peaceful conclusion of protest in Pristina

After the gathering ended, the Kosovo Police issued a statement on the conduct of the protest. According to the police, the protest passed peacefully, the participants dispersed, and police units continued their duties in accordance with operational plans.

The gathering, organized by the Organization of War Veterans of the KLA, began today at 12:00 p.m. in Skanderbeg Square in Pristina. The police said they had taken the necessary measures to ensure security and maintain public order and peace before, during and after the protest.

Respecting citizens’ right to freely express themselves through peaceful gatherings and protests, the Kosovo Police deployed its officers to ensure the safety of all citizens and protesters, with the aim of ensuring that the activity proceeded peacefully and without incident.

After several speeches, during which thousands of protesters expressed their dissatisfaction with the judgment of the Specialist Chambers in The Hague, the protest ended at 12:40 p.m. The participants left, while police units continued their duties in line with operational plans.

The Kosovo Police thanked citizens for their continued understanding and cooperation. Police officers will continue to be present in the field to ensure public order and safety, while the security of citizens and the proper conduct of activities remain priorities for the Kosovo Police.
