Former Kosovo Liberation Army medic Time Kadrijaj recalled painful memories of the war, speaking about the sacrifices of the young people who gave their lives for the country’s freedom.
During an interview on Klan Kosova’s “Sol” program, Kadrijaj became tearful as she described the courage and determination of KLA soldiers who faced danger on the front lines.

“They were young men, full of determination and energy. They knew no fear and went to the front line singing. Perhaps they didn’t come back that evening,” she said through tears, expressing the pain she feels today at the way these people are treated.
Kadrijaj also spoke about the extraordinary conditions in which they treated war injuries, at a time when basic medical equipment was scarce. She said blood was taken directly from one person and transfused into another, while in critical situations, procedures were carried out with improvised tools to save soldiers’ lives.
“One of the soldiers had his hand cut off with a wood saw. If that hand hadn’t been cut off because of the grenades, he would have died. Today he is alive and has survived without that hand. There are soldiers I see today and am amazed are still alive; I don’t know how they managed to endure those injuries,” she recounted.
She also recalled her first meeting with Ramush Haradinaj at the front, praising his efforts to create an improvised operating room where surgeons and volunteers worked. In her account, she also mentioned the women who, amid the gunfire, worked to make sure the soldiers had food.
