Pavlin Luli Opposes the Dissolution of Fushë-Arrëz: “Forgive Me for Asking You to Vote for Rama—He Betrayed Us

Residents of Fushë-Arrëz have begun collecting signatures for a petition against the draft territorial reform, while warning that the protests will escalate.

The majority’s project for territorial reorganization provides for the dissolution of the Municipality of Fushë-Arrëz and its merger with the Municipality of Pukë, an initiative that has faced strong opposition from the community.

On Friday evening, citizens, municipal administration employees and several members of parliament protested against the reform.

Among the protesters was Pavlin Luli, a former parliamentary candidate for the Socialist Party, who joined residents in opposing the dismantling of the Municipality of Fushë-Arrëz.

The protest was also attended by Luçiano Boçi, the opposition co-chair of the committee on territorial reform; MP Gjin Gjoni; and the mayor of Fushë-Arrëz, Hil Curri. The latter leveled strong accusations against Arbajn Mazniku.

The opposition is mainly related to concerns that the merger of local institutions will make it more difficult for residents to access services and will worsen the quality of those services.
