Environment Minister Fitore Pacolli has reiterated that the opening of hunting season does not change the legal ban on hunting in the “Bjeshkët e Nemuna” and “Sharri” National Parks.
In a Facebook post, she announced that monitoring will be stepped up in these two protected areas to curb illegal hunting and protect wildlife.

Checks will be carried out by park rangers, while monitoring will also be supported by drones, camera traps and field patrols.
Pacolli said the measures would be implemented in cooperation with the Kosovo Police and other competent institutions to ensure compliance with the law and protect biodiversity in the protected areas.
She stressed that although hunting season has begun, the ban on hunting remains in force in the territories of the “Bjeshkët e Nemuna” and “Sharri” National Parks.
