Following the case of Arlinda Zekaj, Kosovo’s former president, Vjosa Osmani, has called for the officials who, she says, failed to protect her to be held accountable.
In a Facebook post, she criticized the institutions and stressed that resignations and dismissals are not enough to address the failure to protect Arlinda. “THE STATE LEFT HER IN THE HANDS OF DEATH,” Osmani wrote.

According to her, administrative measures should not be the only response. “Every official who refused to protect her must also face criminal accountability,” she said.
Osmani ended her response with a call for justice and accountability: “JUSTICE. ACCOUNTABILITY. PRISON!”
