Former President Vjosa Osmani published the LDK statement concerning the decision reached in The Hague, stressing that the Kosovo Liberation Army remains the proudest symbol of the modern history of the Albanian people.

According to the statement, genocidal Serbia killed more than 13,000 people during the war in Kosovo. Around 10,000 of the victims were civilians massacred, while more than 1,500 people are still forcibly missing and lie buried in mass graves.
The statement also underlined that the sexual violence, inhumane torture, killings of children and other serious crimes committed by Serbia have still not received a response from international justice. At the same time, it said that Serbia continues to deny these crimes and reward their perpetrators.
According to the message, the people of Kosovo rose up to confront these crimes and defend their homes. The KLA is described as the army of the people of Kosovo and as the blood-stained pledge of oppressed people seeking to liberate their homeland.
“Today and forever, we will defend the justice of our liberation war. The independent and sovereign state of Kosovo is our shared legacy,” the statement concludes.
