The Indian Coast Guard has lost contact with the Ocean Winner, a Panama-flagged vessel that sank off India’s eastern coast.

Two people have so far been rescued from lifeboats, while Indian teams continue their operation to locate the other crew members. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the sinking.
According to Admiral Amit Uniyal, a spokesperson for the Indian Coast Guard, there were 24 people on board: 20 Chinese nationals, three nationals of Myanmar and one Bangladeshi national.
The Ocean Winner was carrying iron ore when the incident occurred. Authorities have launched a search-and-rescue operation to locate the 22 people who remain missing.
