The Ministry of Health of North Macedonia has announced that the case of the patient, which has attracted public attention in recent days, is undergoing a full investigation. On the minister’s orders, the State Sanitary and Health Inspectorate (ISHSSH) has launched an extraordinary inspection at all three institutions where the patient was treated: the Public Health Institution (PHI) Strumica General Hospital, the PHI Shtip Clinical Hospital and the PHI University Clinic of Neurology – Skopje.

According to the Ministry of Health, the inspections are expected to be completed in the coming days, along with the collection of the complete medical documentation from all the health institutions involved. Following a thorough review of the facts, the findings of the professional oversight will be issued and, if necessary, further steps will also be taken.
The ministry emphasizes that the patient’s right to dignity, privacy and the protection of her personal and medical data must be respected throughout the process. Every patient has the legal right to safe, quality and timely healthcare, as well as to receive complete and understandable information about their health condition. According to the ministry, these rights will be guaranteed both during the inspection and in further communication with the patient and her family.
The Ministry of Health assures that the case will be analyzed fully, professionally and to the end, without excluding any element from the review. If shortcomings are identified, appropriate measures will be taken in accordance with the ministry’s powers and the applicable legal provisions. The ministry calls on the public to await the completion of the procedures, avoiding premature conclusions, the spread of speculation and the publication of personal data that could further aggravate the situation of the patient and her family.
At the same time, the ministry appeals to the public and the media to act responsibly and respect the dignity of the healthcare workers involved in the case. Any possible responsibility on their part will be determined solely on the basis of the results of the professional oversight, and not through public judgment before the procedures are concluded.
After the inspections are completed and all findings have been analyzed, the Ministry of Health says it will inform the public in a timely and transparent manner about the established facts and the steps to be taken, the statement said./Telegrafi/
