Noise Pollution Monitoring in Shkodër and Velipojë, Police Inspect Music Venues

The Shkodra police have expanded their operations during the summer season, not only for maintaining public order but also for overseeing noise levels. Inspections have been carried out both in the urban area of Shkodra and on the coast of Velipojë, following the example of similar actions on the shores of Durrës and Vlora.

Based on a map of high-risk points for noise pollution, officers have set up field inspection teams. Relying on Law No. 9774, dated 12.07.2007, “On the Management of Environmental Noise”, as amended, they used measuring devices to check noise levels in various venues and entities, whether open or enclosed, in Shkodër and Velipojë.

Data collected during the measurements, carried out according to standard protocols, showed that all values were within the permissible legal parameters.

In addition to decibel measurements, the relevant authorities also verified compliance with the official music schedule, which for open spaces and residential areas is allowed from 11:00 a.m. to midnight. In parallel, awareness sessions were held with owners and managers of businesses whose activities produce music noise.

The police urge residents to report any irregularities or illegal activities they encounter, assuring them of anonymity and a swift, lawful response from the police.
