In a statement to the media, they warned that the protests would continue and that the institutions would be blocked until their demands were met.

“We are returning today at 4:00 p.m. to Zahir Pajaziti Square to demand the justice Arlinda entrusted to us, as well as justice for every woman who has been killed,” the organizers said in their statement.

The organizers are demanding that the institutions be held accountable and have urged citizens to join the protesters.

“Tomorrow, too, we will take to the streets and block the institutions. The time has come for the state to be held accountable. Join us, whether from work, home or the classroom. The protests will not stop until our demands are met,” the statement said.

The organizers also called for nationwide organization and solidarity, with the aim of guaranteeing women’s safety and securing justice for the victims. “We call for nationwide organization and solidarity. For the safety and freedom of living women, and justice for the women who have been killed,” the statement concluded.

The protest is continuing following the killing of Arlinda Zekaj in Vitomiricë, Peja. The incident has prompted public reactions and calls for an investigation into the actions of the responsible institutions.

Before she was killed, Zekaj had submitted a request to the Basic Prosecution in Peja, seeking urgent measures and expressing concern for her safety.
