Natyra Kuçi, a representative of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), has responded to the killing of a woman in Peja, criticizing state institutions for the way they handled her case before the killing took place.
In a Facebook post, Kuçi alleged that the victim had previously been threatened and attacked, Insajderi reported.

“Her brother-in-law threatened and attacked her, but remained free. Linda was forced to return to look for her son, alone, without support or security,” Kuçi said.
She blamed the judicial system, the police and social welfare services, saying these institutions had failed to protect Linda. In her view, the killing was the result of a series of institutional failures.
Kuçi said Linda had been unable to see her son for months, even though, according to her claims, the court had recognized her right to do so. She added that Linda’s husband had been released less than 48 hours after what she described as the kidnapping of their son.
“The state left Linda alone, like so many other women. She was prevented from seeing her son for months. Her son was taken from her even after she won the right to see him in court,” Kuçi wrote.
