On 28.10.2026, from 09:00 to 14:00, the Traffic Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Interior inspected transport vehicles throughout the country, the Ministry of Interior of North Macedonia reported.
The operation aimed to identify and penalize violations involving overloading, improper placement or securing of cargo, the technical condition of vehicles, and the transport of passengers. Vehicles entering roads from unpaved surfaces, construction sites and similar locations were also inspected, as they could spread mud onto the roads.

According to the ministry, 781 vehicles were inspected during the operation, and 92 of them were sent for technical inspections. A total of 101 irregularities were found, resulting in 25 vehicles being taken off the road. Three cases of the criminal offense of “Careless driving,” under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code, were also recorded.
In addition, authorities identified 219 other traffic violations. Appropriate measures were taken for all violations in accordance with legal provisions, the ministry said.
The ministry said it would continue its road inspection operations and urged drivers and transporters to obey the law, maintain their vehicles in good technical condition, and ensure that cargo is properly placed and secured.
