Murder of 20-year-old in Ksamil / Victim’s friend speaks: Other people arrived during the fight; I tried to give him first aid

Another friend of 20-year-old Portuguese national Luis Miguel Varela Mendes, who was stabbed to death a few days ago in Ksamil, has testified about the incident.

According to the testimony in the case file obtained by journalist Klodiana Lala, French national Ibraim Leimoeiv said that they had been celebrating at “Principote” and later went outside to sit on the sun loungers.

He also testified that a person approached them, insulted them by invoking their mothers, and then headbutted one of those present.

The tourist said that other people later arrived and became involved in the conflict. He identified Sokrat Vata as the perpetrator, saying that he approached a friend with a knife and then struck Miguel.

The tourist also emphasized that he tried to give his friend first aid by placing his shirt over the wound, but the young man did not survive.

“We were all together. A person wearing shorts and a gray short-sleeved shirt approached us. He spoke a little French. He told us to calm down or he would f*** our mothers, and then he headbutted my friend Tourpal. We became involved in the conflict. During the conflict, other people arrived, and I saw a person dressed in beige and white, with long chestnut-colored hair and a small beard, who approached Tourpal with a knife and then turned toward Louis Miguel. There was a lot of movement and many people there, and I did not see the moment when he struck Louis Miguel. I then gave my friend first aid by placing a shirt over his wound,” he said.

The French tourist also identified Sokrat Vata as the perpetrator after being shown a photograph.
