A family has been plunged into mourning, while the local community in Greece has been left shocked by the tragic accident that claimed the lives of two people, a 43-year-old mother and her 21-year-old son of Albanian origin.

The tragedy occurred in the early hours of Friday morning (7 August), when the two had set out for work, but fate had something else in store for them: their final journey.
The 43-year-old woman and her 21-year-old son died instantly when the car they were traveling in collided head-on with a truck, under circumstances that are being investigated by the authorities.

Footage of the accident that claimed the lives of the two victims was recorded by a camera installed on the truck and will be examined by the Greek authorities to help fully establish the circumstances of the crash.
The son was driving
According to information cited by the Greek media, the 21-year-old son was driving the car, while his mother was a passenger in the front seat.
The collision was so powerful that neither the mother nor the son could survive.
The family, originally from Albania, lived in Paleokomi and had built their lives in the area with dignity and hard work.
The mother and son worked for the same large real estate acquisition and management company, headquartered at Ofryni Beach (Tuzla), and they were heading there when fate reserved the most tragic ending for them.
They leave behind a family that will have to cope with an unimaginable loss. The father and daughter now face a huge void, having lost two of their most beloved family members within a matter of seconds.
