Following the death of 40-year-old miner Ilir Kolaveri in a chromium mine gallery in Bulqizë, his family is facing severe financial hardship and has appealed for support.

Ilir Kolaveri died while working in a gallery operated by the company “Eternal Security,” where he was struck by a mass of chromium ore that broke loose inside the mine. Rescue teams recovered his body from underground after a two-day search.
The 40-year-old’s death has left his wife and three young children without an income or stable financial support. His relatives are therefore seeking help so that the Kolaveri family does not have to face this difficult period alone.
Speaking to BalkanWeb, Ilir Kolaveri’s sister-in-law said: “Ilir was my sister’s husband, and they lived in Suç, Mat. The company ‘Eternal Security’ has ignored us. Its representatives came and covered only the funeral expenses, but since then they have shown no further interest in the deceased’s family. We have no support whatsoever. He left behind three young children in extremely difficult circumstances, while his wife is unemployed. We appeal to Albanians to help them, each contributing whatever they can.”
The relatives hope that the solidarity of the public will provide the late miner’s wife and three children with the essential support they need to carry on with their lives after this devastating loss.
