An interaction between US President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, has drawn major attention on social media. In the published footage, the First Lady appears to avoid the kiss that the head of the White House tries to give her.
The moment was filmed in the White House Rose Garden during a press conference where the presidential couple appeared together. They were taking part in the signing of an executive order to establish a task force on women’s health, as well as a dedicated division for this issue at the National Institutes of Health in the US.

The video circulating online shows Trump leaning in to kiss Melania. She, however, appears to turn her head and avoid the kiss on the lips. The reaction has been widely discussed on social media, but it is not known whether it is related to any previous event between them.
During the ceremony, an exchange of quips between the two also drew attention. After signing the executive order, Trump handed the pen to his wife and said: “I don’t know if her signature will mean anything.” Melania replied: “Yours is the most important.”
In his remarks, the president said the idea of creating a dedicated structure for women’s health came after a conversation with his wife. “When I heard about it, I said: ‘Are you sure something like that doesn’t already exist? Who the hell wouldn’t have a women’s health department?’ Melania said: ‘There isn’t one.’ So, well done,” he recounted.
Trump also praised the First Lady’s intelligence and said she understands how important such issues are.
After the attempted kiss, Trump took Melania by the hand, gently patted it with his palm, and said “well done.”
