Medical student breaks down: I lost my mother to a serious illness; treatments are lacking at the Oncology Hospital

A recent graduate in general medicine expressed his support for the protest. He criticized the stance of the ruling majority and Prime Minister Edi Rama toward the protests, saying that students’ concerns had not been addressed and that the time had come to call for the prime minister’s resignation.

According to him, the student movement has faced contempt despite the peaceful nature of the protest.

Speaking about the situation at the Oncology Hospital, the young man also shared his personal experience, saying that he had lost his mother to blood cancer.

He said he still feels he was unable to do everything he could for her, and raised concerns about shortages of treatments and chemotherapy.

“I am a recent graduate in general medicine. This was the solidarity we could offer, because for more than 130 days, during the Flamingo Revolution, we also saw the student movement being labeled violent. But we saw contempt that persists to this day from members of the ruling majority, and especially from the prime minister.

The issues raised by the students have not been addressed.

The time has come to call for the prime minister’s resignation. We are facing these problems because this ruling majority has not done what it should have done…

We have the problems at the Oncology Hospital. I lost my mother to blood cancer, and I don’t feel that I did everything I could for her, because there are many shortages in the treatments and chemotherapy being offered,” he said.
