In a post on the social media platform X, Prime Minister Edi Rama responded to the situation caused by the fire on Mount Kruja, praising the work of firefighters, the army and the police in tackling the blaze.
Rama stressed that despite the strong winds and the difficulties of carrying out aerial operations during the night, the fire was brought under control without causing any casualties.

Post on X:
An extraordinary battle against the fire on Mount Kruja ended with only one warehouse burned down and no residents injured. Amid strong winds and with aerial firefighting equipment unable to operate at night, our firefighters, military personnel and police officers responded heroically and with outstanding professional skill, averting a toll that could have been tragic, as is unfortunately happening in other parts of Europe during this scorching summer🔥🔥🔥
Respect and gratitude to our heroes on the front lines of this challenging August’s fires. Last night, the residents of Kruja saw that they were not alone during their extremely difficult hours, as this message—one of several sent to me during the night—also shows:
“Mr. Prime Minister! Please, the fire is growing rapidly in Kruja! They are working like heroes, may God reward them… but the wind is spreading it very quickly. If possible, please send further reinforcements… the entire state is on its feet 🙏”.
