A solemn swearing-in ceremony was held at the “Adem Jashari” Barracks in Pristina for 515 young recruits, who thereby began their service to the Republic of Kosovo.
According to Minister of Defense Ejup Maqedonci, the number of newly recruited soldiers during their term in government has more than doubled.

The minister announced that the personnel target set for 2028 will be achieved two years ahead of schedule, with the start of training for the next group.
Speaking about the same period, Maqedonci said that the defense budget had tripled and exceeded 2 percent of gross domestic product. Meanwhile, the number of military personnel who have received training abroad has quadrupled.
Regarding the development of the Kosovo Security Force and the strengthening of the country’s security, he emphasized that investment in personnel, armaments, equipment and professional training continues to be a priority.
