Following Tuesday’s reports of a preliminary agreement between the Vetëvendosje Movement and the Democratic League of Kosovo on governing together, LVV has issued an official response.
Arlind Manxhuka, the party’s spokesperson, said they are making every effort to avoid new elections and find a solution for the position of president.

“Our commitment is maximal. We are proactive and constructive in meetings and discussions, open and sincere about an agreement. We hope that the opposition will not entrench itself in opposition and push us once again towards the ballot box,” Manxhuka said.
A day earlier, media reported that the LVV-LDK talks envisage LDK being entrusted with three ministerial posts and the position of Speaker of Parliament, while Vetëvendosje would be granted the right to propose the president’s name.
This information circulated during a period of internal turmoil within LDK and only a few days after the meeting between Albin Kurti and Lumir Abdixhiku.
Following that meeting last Friday, both leaders — of LVV and LDK alike — confirmed that they had agreed to further meetings, but neither mentioned that an agreement had already been reached on the allocation of posts or the formation of a post-election coalition.
