Interpol Tirana, together with the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH), in cooperation with the British National Extradition Unit at the NCA, located and arrested a man wanted by SPAK on suspicion of involvement in the kidnapping and subsequent disappearance of Jan Prenga.

Documents from London’s Westminster Magistrates’ Court seen by Top Channel journalist Muhamed Veliu show that Korado Gështënja has been arrested for extradition purposes.
In England, he also used the surname Kështenja and the false name James Martin.
The court was told that the 35-year-old Albanian is wanted on the basis of an arrest warrant issued by SPAK and approved by Albania’s Special Court Against Corruption and Organised Crime (GJKKO), for the criminal offences of kidnapping and conspiracy to import Category A drugs.
The representative of the Albanian state in the extradition proceedings said that on or around 17/01/2020, Korado Gështënja unlawfully deprived Jan Prenga of his liberty against his will.
“On or around 17/01/2020, you cooperated in the form of a conspiracy with other individuals to import/export Category A drugs from Ecuador, specifically cocaine, in breach of the prohibition in force on these goods,” the prosecutor told Gështënja.
The next extradition hearing will be held on 02/09/2026 at 10:00, while Gështënja is being held in custody in London.
It remains unclear how the young Albanian, who lives in St Leonards On Sea, entered England.
According to reports from the SPAK case file, Korado Gështënja was involved in the surveillance and subsequent kidnapping of Jan Prenga.
He was abducted in the Kamza area and was then taken to a resort in Shijak, where he was last seen.
According to the investigation, he was held hostage and tortured, while his body has still not been found.
The prosecution has established that Jan Prenga’s kidnapping was ordered as an act of revenge over a quantity of drugs lost in England, involving the victim’s brother, Ndrek Prenga.
Dritan Rexhepi is also suspected of being involved in the incident. /Top Channel
