Magnitude 7.4 Earthquake Near Puerto Madero, Mexico

A powerful earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale was recorded on Friday near Puerto Madero, in the Mexican state of Chiapas, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported.

According to USGS data, the earthquake’s epicentre was at a depth of 10 kilometres, or around 6.2 miles.

So far, no official reports of deaths, injuries or material damage have been released, while authorities continue to monitor the situation.
