London Takes Tough Measure Against Tehran, Labels Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps a Security Risk and Bans It in the United Kingdom

Authorities in London have issued a decisive decision officially labeling Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a direct threat to the country’s national security.

Shabana Mahmood, who holds the post of Home Secretary, announced that the IRGC is the first entity to receive this label under the new National Security Act, which just came into force last week, reports the daily The Times.

This legislative initiative results in a complete ban on the Revolutionary Guard in British legal territory and anyone who engages in activities on behalf of this group faces a maximum sentence of 14 years in prison.

For years, British officials have viewed the IRGC as a force of extraordinary weight in Iran’s military and political mechanisms and this latest step reinforces the framework of new state security measures.
