The continuation of the Kosovo Assembly’s constitutive session is scheduled for today, starting at 10:00 in the session hall.
The fourth item on the agenda is the election of the Assembly’s deputy speakers.

13.09.2026, 07:31 – Deputies are expected to convene again today for the continuation of the constitutive session, while the main issue on the agenda remains the election of the Assembly’s deputy speakers.
Assembly Speaker Albulena Haxhiu called this session after the candidacy of Vlora Çitaku failed to be approved during Friday’s sitting.
The abstention of LVV deputies during the vote on the PDK candidate meant that Çitaku failed to secure the required number of votes for the post of deputy speaker.
At the same sitting, deputies managed to elect Ardian Gola of LVV as deputy speaker of the Assembly.
Following the unsuccessful vote on Çitaku, PDK decided not to take part in any further continuations of the constitutive session.
Another session was scheduled later that same day, only a few hours later, but PDK deputies were absent.
Meanwhile, LDK called for the voting order to be respected, emphasizing that the candidacy of Kujtim Shala could not be put forward before the PDK candidate was voted on.
The situation changed on Sunday evening, when LVV announced that it would support both candidates for deputy speaker: Vlora Çitaku from PDK and Kujtim Shala from LDK.
LVV representatives have expressed the expectation that the selection of the deputy speakers will pave the way for the continuation of the institutional process and will not create obstacles to the election of Kosovo’s next president.
Today’s sitting is scheduled to begin at 10:00.
It is still unknown whether PDK and LDK will attend the session, and whether the Assembly will be able to complete the process of electing the deputy speakers.
