“The drones were intercepted and neutralized,” Al-Atwan said, noting that debris from them fell in several residential areas during the operation.
According to the official statement, the falling debris caused only material damage. There were no reports of casualties or injuries.
The announcement followed statements by Kuwait’s defense minister, who said Iranian attacks had struck or attempted to strike critical facilities in the country.
The Ministry of Defense stressed that the Armed Forces remain on permanent alert to defend Kuwait’s airspace and critical infrastructure.
“The Armed Forces affirm their continued commitment to carrying out their duties and responsibilities efficiently, maintaining a high level of readiness and vigilance, in order to strengthen national security and protect citizens and residents,” the statement said.
