Kurti Urges the EU to Advance Kosovo’s Membership Application During Meeting with Palatova

Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti has urged the European Union to advance Kosovo’s application process for membership in the organization.

The request was made during a farewell meeting with Eva Palatova, the acting head of the EU Office in Kosovo.

Kurti said Kosovo expects its application to be examined further and the country to be granted candidate status, stressing that the process should be based on merit.

During the discussion, the acting prime minister praised the cooperation between Kosovo’s institutions and the European Union, while thanking Palatova for her contribution.

Kosovo submitted its application for membership of the European Union in December 2022, but has still not been granted candidate-country status.

The meeting ended with Kurti wishing Palatova further success in her professional endeavors.
