Kurti: Six LDK lawmakers are pushing Kosovo toward its fourth election in two years

Albin Kurti, leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, spoke to the media after meeting with the LVV parliamentary group.

One of the topics discussed was the position of six LDK lawmakers, who have announced that they will not vote for Bedri Sejdiu as president.

Kurti described this action as irresponsible and absurd.

“I was very pleased that all the lawmakers in our parliamentary group supported Professor Bedri Sejdiu as the next president,” Kurti said.

He said that the LDK leadership’s position of fully supporting Bedri Sejdiu had initially been encouraging, but that it was later followed, according to him, by the negative announcement that six of the LDK’s 18 lawmakers would not support Bekim Sejdiu for president.

“In this situation, we must meet again with the leader of the LDK or with the LVV leadership to discuss how we will move forward,” he said.

Kurti called the conduct of the six lawmakers irresponsible and absurd, saying that they apparently aim to send the country to elections for the fourth time within two years.
