Stop the terror and violence!”/ Berisha accuses Rama of ordering police to intervene against protesters

The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has reacted to the tensions reported Tuesday evening in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, denouncing in a statement on social media the violence that, according to him, was inflicted on protesters.

“Stop the terror and violence of the Godfather against peaceful protesters!” Berisha wrote at the beginning of his response.

Berisha claims that during the protest, Prime Minister Edi Rama provoked citizens from the Prime Minister’s Office and then ordered police forces to intervene.

The Democratic Party’s statement says that Edi Rama seriously provoked peaceful protesters from his office and allegedly ordered the narco-police to attack them without any motive, using batons, kicks, water cannons and other means.

The DP also claims that several protesters were injured and sustained wounds as a result of police violence, while others were forcibly taken to the police station without any justification.

The Democratic Party expresses its solidarity with the youth-civic protest, condemns what it describes as brutal violence ordered by the Godfather against protesters, and calls for the immediate release of those taken to the police station.
