The constitutive session of Kosovo’s Assembly is expected to continue on Saturday morning, although the 30-day deadline set by the Constitutional Court to conclude this process expires at midnight on Friday.

Albin Kurti, acting prime minister and leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, told the media that the parties had still not reached a political agreement on establishing the new institutions. Nevertheless, he expressed confidence that stability lies ahead.
According to Kurti, the differences between the parties’ positions and expectations remain significant. He said there was a drastic gap between the election result and the demands of the Democratic League of Kosovo, stressing that no agreement can be reached that replaces the will of the people.
Kurti warned that the deadlock would not necessarily end with the election of the Assembly speaker and its Presidency, or with the formation of the new government, as the election of the president would still remain.
He argued that this formula had been tried before and that using the same method could not produce a different result. According to him, such a situation would inevitably lead the country toward the dissolution of the Assembly.
