According to his account, the situation unfolded suddenly at around 4:00 a.m., when smoke filled the corridor and blocked their escape route from the building.
“We were asleep at 4 in the morning, I don’t know. We went out into the corridor and saw a lot of smoke. We closed the door and went to the balcony—there were flames. We jumped from the balcony; I landed on concrete, I don’t know,” the young man recounted.
Seven people were injured as a result of the fire. Six of them are citizens of Kosovo, while one is from Rreshen.
Due to their condition, two of the injured were urgently transported to Tirana, where they will receive more specialized treatment. Meanwhile, four other people underwent surgery.
